Is It Santa’s Day or Jesus’ Birthday?

Christmas is a very important day throughout the year. It is celebrated once a year. Does everybody knows the true essence of Christmas or not? For me Christmas is the day when baby Jesus was born, as a matter of fact. During Christmas, we celebrate this by using fireworks or fire crackers. Why do some children await for Santa Claus in Christmas instead of Jesus Christ? It is like Jesus is ignored. Christmas… it’s the day of gifts, for them.

There are 16 days of Christmas vacation and school days come along just to end it. So I’ve found a way to solve this problem of mine that is to spend it wisely.  I spent my Christmas vacation with my friends. I’ve almost spent my whole vacation hanging out with them. We spent our time hanging at the beach. For me it is the only time that I spent so much time with time. It is a tradition that people go from house to house to sing a Christmas song. Some people says that it is embarrassing to go out there singing for a cause or just a say, a “cost”. But for me it brings fun because I love singing even though I am not a good singer. I want to sing not for a cost but also for entertainment. I do this with my friends or with my sisters, of course. Too bad my guitar was broken. We planned to bring my guitar so that it is more entertaining. Unfortunately, we earned a lot of money. The least amount of money that was given to us is a 20 peso bill, it’s better than nothing. On the 24th day of December, we went at the church. Badly, we didn’t make it inside because it is too crowded. At that moment, I’d realized that I needed to change my self because some people does not find my doings, funny but naughty. It was almost the end of the year. A new year is a new beginning for me.

At the end of the year 2010, you will encounter a new me. It is time to let go off the hard feelings that reign in my heart. It’s the start of something new.

IF YOU CAN READ THIS, THANK A TEACHER

In life, we learn something. And that somethings, it is very important, perhaps, sometime. And we all know that we are learning through reading. we must learn to read, and read to learn. Perhaps, you don’t get my message in that quote. It states that we must learn how to read and sooner or later we will learn, that’s it.

I really really admire my teachers so much. They are the people who taught me the things I never knew. My teachers in kindergarten are the teachers that taught me how to read. And now I’m in the secondary level, my teachers teach me lessons aside from reading. My English teacher this school year is the only teacher who taught me how to make a correct leisure reading report. In my two years of existence at Ilocos Sur National High School, I never knew hoe to make a correct leisure reading report. Thus, I never learn in my past two years in this school. In my secondary level in progress. I’ve learn how to use my magic fingers in typing or encoding characters in a computer. It sure helped me to type faster and I don’t need to take a look at the keyboard. It sure is a great time learning something. In my other subjects, I can’t swim with the current. Meaning, my classmates are learning but I’m not but everybody knows that it’s not my teacher’s fault, yet, it is my fault. I am not saying that I’m not a fast learner, only I’m not paying attention sometimes. But someday I promised to my self that I will listen next time.

I am beginning to see better days ahead and I promise that I will love my teachers as much as they love me. I am proud to say that if you can read this, thank a teacher.

DID YOU KNOW???…….

The development of the modern day computer was the result of advances in technologies and man’s need to quantify. Papyrus helped early man to record language and numbers. The abacus was one of the first counting machines..
Some of the earlier mechanical counting machines lacked the technology to make the design work. For instance, some had parts made of wood prior to metal manipulation and manufacturing. Imagine the wear on wooden gears. This history of computers site includes the names of early pioneers of math and computing and links to related sites about the History of Computers, for further study.

LEARN, LEARN, LEARN

“Education is an admirable thing, but it is well to remember from time to time that nothing that is worth knowing can be taught.” -Oscar Wilde

“Upon the subject of education, not presuming to dictate any plan or system respecting it, I can only say that I view it as the most important subject which we as a people may be engaged in.”- Abraham Lincoln

“Cowards die many times before their deaths; The valiant never taste of death but once.
Of all the wonders that I yet have heard, it seems to me most strange that men should fear;
Seeing that death, a necessary end, will come when it will come”. Julius Caesar Quote

A TEACHER

If you read this, thank a teacher.

I wanted to tell you all that you must love your teachers.

They are the one who taught you how to read.

Be nice, because your personality reflects on your teacher.

Learn to read, read to learn.

We can read with the help of our teachers.

They are the one who encourages us to read.

We are learning through reading.

We are informed by what we read.

Be a voracious reader and learn more.

That is the way your teacher will be appreciated.

I love my teachers even though they scolded me.

They scolded me because I did something bad.

and they don’t want me to become bad that’s why their scolded me.

Again, if you read this, thank a teacher and love your teacher.

That’s all! ! !
